Compared with the listed DRS-TH thermal field of view, R2 gives almost twice the horizontal scene width and roughly 3.5x the visible thermal area. It is also much lighter for fast airsoft scanning.
The DPS-TH lists the same 13.5° × 10° thermal field of view as R2, but it is a pistol-slide fusion optic on a 509T footprint at roughly €1,400+. R2 delivers that view as a dedicated lightweight rifle thermal for about half the price.
The HP06 has an extremely wide view, but it is an older 17 µm and 25 Hz class platform. R2 uses a 12 µm format with 60 Hz refresh for more natural panning and tracking.
For players who mainly need compact thermal awareness rather than a heavy hybrid red-dot system, R2 is positioned around practical price-to-performance and mobility.

Yes. Thermal imaging detects emitted heat, not reflected light, so the R2 sees in complete darkness with no moonlight, no IR illuminator and nothing to reveal your position. It also cuts through smoke, fog and light foliage.
No separate optic to mount or co-witness. The R2 draws the reticle on the thermal screen itself: a red, blue or white dot in three sizes. You zero it to your setup. Airsoft players zero it to their existing red dot for accurate hits past 20 m; hunters zero to point of impact. Sleep/wake keeps it live without a slow boot.
About 5 hours of continuous use on a single rechargeable CR2. Recharge over USB-C, or swap in a fresh CR2 to keep going. SwiftSync™ standby stretches real-world runtime well beyond continuous-on figures.
Rated IP67: fully sealed against dust and protected against temporary immersion. It is built for rain, mud and dew, with a 1000 g recoil rating.
